In reply to your telegram of yesterday's date no foundation for report of cancellation of charter intending emigrants on arrival at Hong Kong during last fortnight have been accommodated ordinary Chinese lodging houses Kowloon of which number have been hired and placed under special medical inspection, permanent isolated depot being built four miles from Kowloon and isolated temporary accommodation will be ready in two days: all emigrants who satisfy emigration officer and pass strict medical examination will be sent there pending shipment: those rejected sent home one case of bubonic plague occurred in lodging house partly occupied by emigrants: patient was rejected emigrant: seven other emigrants same house have been sent home: no other case among emigrants up to present time.
